aven illustrates both:
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore-
While I nodded nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
"T' is some visitor," I muttered," tapping at my chamber door-
Only this and nothing more." [16]
For the reader rhyme is a pleasure, for the poet a challenge. When the challenge is won successfully, the poem is a pleasure to listen to; it sounds natural to the ear, and its rhyme makes it easier to remember.
Besides rhyme, two other forms of sound play prevail in poetry: alliteration or the repetition of consonant sounds, especially at the beginning of words, and assonance or the repetition of vowel sounds. In his witty guide to poetic technique, Rhyme's Reason, John Hollander describes alliteration and assonance like this.
Assonance is the spirt of a rhyme,
A common vowel, hovering like a sigh
After its consonantal body dies...
...
Alliteration lightly links
Stressed syllables with common consonants. [17]
Both alliteration and assonance are clearly audible in "The Raven", such as the first instance.
In Poe's poems, he also produced continuously novel effects by the variation of the application of the refrain. In The Raven he chose the word " Nevermore" to embody this sound and at the same time in the fullest possible way to keep with the melancholy which as the tone of the poem.

p; Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
"Though thy crest be shorn and shaven thou," I said," art sure no craven,
Ghastly grim and ancient Raven wandering from the nightly shore-
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!"
Quoth the Raven-"Nevermore."
Much I marvelled this ungainly foul to hear discourse so plainly,
Though its answer little meaning-little relevancy bore;
For we cannot help agreeing that no living human being
Ever yet was blessed with seeing bird above his chamber door-
Bird or beast upon the sculptured bust above his chamber door,
With such name as "Nevermore."[18]
3.4 The feature-yuefu folk songs and ballads is used in Meng Jiao's works
Meng Jiao specialized in using the form of ancient poems and a genre of poetry called yuefu folk songs and ballads. He wrote no regulated verses. To see one of his poems A Faithful Widow(《烈女操》)[19] again:
梧桐相待老,鸳鸯会双死.
贞妇贵殉夫,舍生亦如此.
波澜誓不起,妾心古井水。
The trees Wu and Tong grow old together,
The mandarin duck will die with her drake.
In the same manner a faithful woman
Should give up her life for her husband’s sake.
Like the dead water of an ancient well,
No more ripples will ever my heart shake.
The words were used so free, but rhyme is embodied on them.
3.5 The feature-baimiao is used in Meng Jiao's works
Meng Jiao was also good at employing the baimiao( pure line sketch) techniques as in painting art to convey the full weight of his sentiments and depict natural sceneries to his liking. To see his Sing to Glacier (《寒江吟》):
寒江吟 Sing To Glacier[20]
冬至日光白, The sunlig
