Such praises for death show the inclination on mentality and emotion of poet. it is Just like Poe said in Overture, “I cannot love, unless death himself let his breath and beauty’s get together”(中南民族学院学报). 2.2 The inverse mentality embodies through the language Language is a symbol for the express of people’s logic thinking and images thinking. The inverse mentality embodies through the use of irony and overdo words. Because of the unrealize of people’s desire and demand, they usually express themselves in an opposite direction, that is often to turn up the deviation of language and author’s original idea. And the real thoughts and false words get a balance to a certain extent. Meng Jiao’s “the poor wish to be a moth, and burn down his magnificent body”[3] are overdo words. In Poe’s poem, he directly talks the word “death” more than 20 times. He describes “illusion” countlessly, and talked “tomb” and “soul” a lot. His work are full of hallucination, absurd, desolate, gloomy, ghost, mysterious, glum, lonely, morbid, crazy, horrible and so on.
