摘　要　用英文发表文章不仅是国际交流的需要,也是研究成果评估的一个标准。但大部分科研工作者英文稿件的表达水平较差,常令外籍审稿专家无法修改。从Chinese Journal ofAgricultural Biotechnology(CJAB)(《中国农业生物技术学报》(英文版))已发表文章的编辑修改过程中,我们发现四种主要问题: 1意思表述不清楚,中国式英语; 2句子不精练,结构繁琐; 3句子不完整,缺少谓语或介词等; 4谓语动词不确切或同一动词多次重复。针对以上问题,作者列举了具有代表性的例句并给出了正确的答案,同时提出了提高中译英文章可读性的五项建议。

Abstract　The purpose ofpublishing papers in English is notonly for the international communication butalso forthe evaluation and promotion of research work. However, most of the contributions are poor in English, whichmakes native English editors hopeless for revision. . This paperdiscusses fourkinds ofproblems found in the edi-ting and revising of the English articles published in Chinese Journal ofAgriculturalBiotechnology (CJAB). 1,Chinglish, ideas unclear in expressison and hard for apprehension; 2, Lengthy sentences needed to be reformulat-ed concisely; 3, Uncompleted sentences, somethingmissing; 4, The verb is not suitable and the conjugate verbis absent. A numberofexamples are listed fordemonstrating and correcting these four types oferrors. 近年来,英文稿件越来越受到重视。用英文发表文章不仅是国际交流的需要,也是研究成果评估的一个标准[1]。但大部分科研工作者英文稿件的表达水平较差,常令外籍审稿专家无法修改。找翻译公司翻译,价格高又翻译得不很准确。因此,如何提高英文稿件的表达水平已成为许多科研工作者亟待解决的问题。Chinese Journal ofAgriculturalBiotechnology(中国农业生物技术学报, CJAB)是中国农业大学分别和CAB International(2004-2006)和英国剑桥大学出版社(2006至今)合作出版的英文版刊物。CJAB的文章选自在国际上可能引起兴趣的近期出版的《农业生物技术学报》上的文章。经过翻译和外籍专家修改,以及作者校对(此稿发给CJAB主编)等一系列程序,最后在国外编辑出版发行( ISSN 1479-2362)。CJAB已成为国际同行了解中国生物技术研究水平的重要刊物。作为合作出版者,《农业生物技术学报》编辑部拥有文章编译进程中的所有版本(中文稿件、译稿、修改稿、校样和正式出版的英文文章)。通过对部分文章的系列的修改校对的比较,我们发现英文译文主要有4个方面问题。本文分别列举了这4个方面的例句并提供了正确的答案,同时提出了如何提高英文文章可读性的5项建议。希望能对一些作者写英文摘要或文章有所帮助。

1　中国式英语,意思表述不清中国式英语是由中国式的语法与英语词汇组合而成[2]。这种英语单从语法结构上看,挑不出什么问题,中国人一看就明白表达的是什么意思,甚至给人一种非常“流利”的印象,但外国人看着却晦涩难懂[3]。
