4.1 Translation at Lexical Level

Vocabulary is not only the basic unit of semantic meaning,but also an importantpoint of information transmission,so the accurate translation of vocabulary is veryimportant for the informative texts.The translator needs to deeply analyze the linguisticfunctions,context and characteristics of the text to ensure the professionalism andstandardization of lexical translation(Cai,2016).In the translation of Stop Overthinking,the methods of omission,addition and conversion are mainly employed by the translatorat the lexical level.

4.1.1 Omission

Since the grammatical functions of some words in English are different from thosein Chinese,the words that are absolutely essential in English may not be indispensable inChinese.In the source text,the same word that refers to the same content can be deletedwithout affecting the semantics.It also can reduce the complexity of information andmake the translation more concise and unobstructed(Tan,2014).

5.1 Summary
