摘要:本研究的目的是检查非英语专业学生使用策略的总体在独立学院的影响语言学习策略整合到英语教学,在独立学院非英语专业的学生。
2.1 The Definitions of Language Learning Strategies
The word "strategy" comes from the ancient Greek term “strategia” meaning thegeneralship or the art of war. More specifically, it refers to the optimal management of troops,ships,or aircrafts in a planned campaign with the following implied characteristics: planning,competition,conscious manipulation, and movement towards achievement of an objective(Oxford, 1990).As for definitions of language learning strategies in the area of linguistics, Ellis, arenowned linguist aimed to second language acquisition, specifies them in the following way:“Learning strategies are the particular approaches or techniques that learners employ to try tolearn an L2" (Ellis,1997: 76-77).Also many methodologists and researchers interested mainly in learning strategies inconnection with language learning are more precise in defining them. Oxford, the author ofmany publications and articles concerning this issue, defines language learning strategies as“specific actions taken by the learner to make learning easier, faster, more enjoyable, moreself-directed, more effective, and more transferable to new situations" (Oxford, 1990: 8).Furthermore, Oxford (1990) spreads her definition by listing key features of language learningstrategies,among the others she emphasizes features such as communicative competence,developing of learners' self directions and expanding of the role of teachers.

Conclusion
The present study aims to investigate the non-English major students' use of strategies inindependent college and the effects of integrating language learning strategy into EFLinstruction for non-English major students in independent college. There are some limitationsin this study,though the major questions have been answered.
