1.1Background of the Research

English,as a linguistic discipline,fundamentally serves the purpose ofcommunication.Hence,the core objective of English education lies in fosteringstudents'proficient communicative abilities,encompassing listening,speaking,reading,and especially writing.Writing,being the integrative component of these three aspects,demonstrates a high level of comprehensiveness,enabling students to grasp the art oflanguage utilization.As an expressive skill,it vividly reflects the creativity involved inlinguistic and cognitive activities.However,writing instruction presents challenges inpractical teaching,with educators often grappling with a lack of systematic approaches,leaving students perplexed about learning to write.Traditionally,junior high schoolEnglish classes in China seldom dedicate specialized sessions to writing,restrictingtraining to mere imitation of preset templates.Consequently,students'thought processesbecome restricted,stifling their creativity.Over time,this leads to a decline in theirenthusiasm and interest in writing.

Currently,English teaching in Chinese middle schools tends to undervalue theimportance of writing.Junior high school teachers typically do not have dedicatedwriting courses in their curriculum.In classrooms,it's not uncommon to witness aneducator dedicating one or two lessons to refining a single class's writing skills,highlighting the difficulty in individualizing this task.Teachers often emphasizelanguage knowledge and the development of listening,speaking,and reading abilities,inadvertently overlooking the nurturing of writing skills and the strategic guidance forstudents.They perceive in-class writing instruction as time-consuming and less impact.As a result,they sparingly devote time to guiding students'writing during lessons.

1.2 Significance of the Research

As the new curriculum standards put forward higher requirements on Englishwriting,writing teaching should be given more attention from middle school teachers.While junior middle school English teachers seem to have neglected English writing inpractical teaching,some English teachers ask students to recite English essay templates before an exam,or choose several essays that may be teacher-led for the test.It can beseen that many English teachers do not pay enough attention to the teaching of Englishwriting.
