摘要：This research program explores different aspects of metaphorical representation of love and has gained some essential understanding of the nature, organization and process of the metaphorical representation of love. This program thus not only enhances our knowledge of love representation and love information processing, but also expands a new research perspective on love cognition.

This program thus not only enhances our knowledge of love representation and love information processing, but also expands a new research perspective on love cognition.
The findings of this research program will also deepen our understanding of the relationship between metaphors and thought and language, having insights into or comprehensively understanding the essential ways of human cognition and conceptualization. What is more, the findings have important revealing implications and practical values for concept formation, metaphor understanding, and artificial intelligence of non-literal language processing and the formulation of love values.
From the cross-cultural and developmental approaches, this thesis explores the cross-cultural commonality and differences in the metaphorical representation of love and the developmental trends in the production and comprehension of love metaphors. This may promote effective cross-cultural communication and increase cross-cultural understanding.
As a special study of metaphor, this study differs from the previous general metaphor studies, thus the results of this program will be helpful to test and prove the metaphor theories proposed. In addition, through this case study, a better understanding of the nature and cognitive process of metaphor will be achieved. However, significances and limitations co-exist in this study. Many fields wait for future specialized study.
