The  book  News  Translation:  Theory  and  Practice  (2011)  combines  the  German functionalist  approach  and  Lefevere’s  “ideology”  and  “patron”  concepts  with  the practice of news translation. Hu Fangyi& Ja Wenbo(2010) , Hu Fangyi(2014) and Xu Lin Yao (2014) among  others  embrace  Lefevere’s  understanding  of  adaptation,  manipulation  and ideology  and  use  them  to  explain  Chinese-English  news  translation.  Cheng  Ying (2011) draws support from Reiss’s text typology to evaluate news translations.   Yu Qiuping (2012) epitomizes scholars whose research focus is how to translate news  properly  and  how  to  avoid  mistranslations.  For  example,  Wang  Jinhua(2007) and  Wen  Jun(2003)  pay  close  attention  to  how  to  translate  news  adequately,  albeit with  Newmark’s  communicative  translation  theory  and  Gutt’s  relevance  theory respectively.  Zhang  Meifang  (2011)  feeds  more  investment  into  the  study  of  news translation  by  applying  Genette’s  concept  paratexts  to  interpret  news  translation  and calls  for  more  care  for  super-texts,  which  include  from  pictures  via  annotations  to comments.  Chinese  scholars’  percipient  minds  take  their  interests  in  various phenomena of news translations, just as those foreign scholars do. Huang qin (2008, 2014)’s  essay  on  applying  the  critical  discourse  analysis  to  English-Chinese translations  and  the  usage  of  corpora  for  analyzing  the  features  and  traits  of  English and Chinese news meta-discourses.
