Literature Review 

There  is  much  effort  going  to  case  studies  in  terms  of  research  of  news translation,  revealing  the  fact  that  the  link  between  the  research  and  what  has happened  in  the  outside  world  which  is  expressed  by  news  can  never  be  severed. News  and  its  translations  have  become  the  wellspring  from  which  scholars  and researches alike are always going to drink, though in different ways.  

2. 1 Foreign research in political news translation
Recently, there has been a dramatic flowering of study on news translation, and it more or less triggers two questions as to the very definition of translation and the very positioning  of  translators  within  the  context  of  news  translation  with  many  of  them using political news as research object. In  terms  of  the  first  question,  Valdeón(2007),  Floros(2012)  Bielsa  (2009/2011), Kang(2007),Pormouzeh(2014),  and  Davier(2015)  are  among  people  who  directly  or indirectly  touch  the  bedrock  of  translation.  The  first  two  of  them  tilt  against  the editing,  i.e.  the  addition  and  excision  of  words,  phrases  and  paragraphs,  during  the translation  of  news  in  that  the  news  translation  should  be  considered  in  a  more traditional  light,  the  remaining  of  them  are  exponents  of  the  broadening  of  the  very concept of translation, suggesting that news has inevitably to be recycled and adapted in a target language context. Scholars  here  all  consciously  or  unconsciously  employ  political  news translations to make their point. Valdeón(2007) elaborates two case studies. The first case  is  English-Spanish  political  news  translation  about  a  terrorist  attack  in  Madrid, the second is Spanish-English news which is about a local rape happened in Colorado. The two pieces of news are conveyed on the Internet. She criticizes the reorganization of  translated  news,  and  the  omissions  and  additions  involved  in  them.  She  treats  the incongruousness with “original” texts as the reason for political and sex bias. But she also  finds  in  the  first  case  that  some  paragraphs  of  the  translation  come  from  the “original”  text  but  other  paragraphs  are  truncated  from  other  pieces  of  English  news on the same website and on the same day.
