摘要:八十年代以来，中国译界对经典作品的重译现象极为普遍。对不同的译本进行全面地比较分析，对文学翻译批评具有重要的意义。译本质量的评价涉及译界争论不休的重大问题，如翻译的标准、翻译策略的选择、译者主体性的发挥等。
    本文共分四部分:第一部分对本论文要解决的问题、五个译本的概况、选择它们进行分析的原因、论文的研究方法及《傲慢与偏见》的语言特点做了说明。
    在第二部分，作者回顾了翻译标准，翻译策略，译者的主体性及重译等问题。忠实是译者的职责。忠实的境界，虽不能至，亦心向往之;异化与归化二者相辅相成，在语言层面要尽量归化，而在文化层面可多些异化;文化词语的使用方面，要避免落入文化陷阱。异化虽然是趋势，但一定要适度。译者的主体性已越来越被人们认可，但是在发挥主体性时，译者要始终忠实于原文本的信息的传递和风格的传递。翻译应该是力求“信”与“美”的辩证统一。
    第三部分对《傲慢与偏见》的五个中译本在传达原文风格，审美价值及文化元素三方面进行全面分析，比较了它们的不同之处。本文认为，王科一的译本归化的尺度大一些，语言流畅自然，具有较强的可读性，是一个很好的原译本。孙致礼的译本是一个成功的重译本。孙偏向异化的翻译策略，译文保留了尽可能多的异国情调，较忠实地传达了原文作者的内容及风格，但在文化因素的传递方面考虑的不够周全。张扬和张玲的译本无法在语言上超越前译，但他们在文化的传递上具有优势。张经浩的译本与众不同，翻译风格独特，语言口语化，尽量避免翻译腔。但是不够忠实于原文的风格，不能称之为一个成功的重译本。雷立美的译本能够忠实于原文的内容，在汉语四字格的使用方面能够吸取前译优点，避免出现文化陷阱。但是该译本在忠实原文信息的传递的同时，未能很好的传达原文的语言风格，在一定程度上失去了原文的语言魅力。
     结论部分强调了翻译的忠实原则，对翻译策略的选择提出建议:应根据文本类型、翻译目的和读者水平选择合适的宏观翻译策略，同时在原文词句的语境、语用功能和译语语言的基本规范的制约下调整自己的微观翻译策略。
Abstract：The retranslation of western classics into Chinese has been very prosperous in Chinasince the 1980s. Many publishing houses have offered different versions for readers atdifferent educational levels. By a comparative analysis of different versions, we can find theproblems we are facing now.
     This thesis falls into four parts. Chapter One serves as an introduction, which includes abrief review of comparative studies of different versions of Pride and Prejudice in recentyears; the task this thesis attempts to accomplish and its research methodology; a survey ofthe literary characteristics of Pride and Prejudice.
     Chapter Two is a literature review. It discusses some unsolved problems in translationand retranslation studies二translation criteria; translation strategies; the translator's subjectivity;the translator's sense of self-restraint and creativity; difficulties of retranslation and thenecessity of retranslation. We believe that a translator's first duty is to be faithful to the sourcetext, even though we are fully aware that absolute fidelity is never attainable. At the linguisticlevel, the degree of domestication may go to a larger extent so as to make the version conformto the modes of the target language, whereas at the cultural level, the degree of foreignizationshould go to a larger extent in order to retain the foreign cultural flavor as much as possible.Translator's subjectivity has been acknowledged, but the translator should be faithful to boththe author and the reader, and should not express his/her own subjective ideas and intentionsin  translation.  Translation  should  aim  at  a  dialectical  unity  of  "faithfulness"  and"beautifulness". To achieve this, the translator should have both a sense of self-restraint and asense of creativity.
     Chapter Three makes a comparative analysis of the five Chinese versions of the novelfrom the perspectives of the representation of original style, recreating the aesthetic effect andproper transfer of cultural elements.
     We fmd Wang Keyi's version is faithful to the source text and he domesticates not onlyin language but in culture. Sun Zhili's strategies of foreignization and domestication make hisversion succeed in retaining foreignness of the source and conveying aesthetic beauty though he slips occasionally in dealing with cultural elements.
