Conclusion
The best skill these student teachers master is lead-in skill. All of them can present amoderately well lead-in in their micro-teaching at least. Most of them can design theirlead-ins with relatively clear objectives to arouse students' attention and interest to someextent and to introduce new lessons in a relatively natural way within proper time. Twoof them design good lead-in. This indicates that these student teachers give enoughattention to the lead-in part and make efforts to think and prepare this part before theirmicroteaching.
Half of them perform acceptably in every evaluation item of presentation skill andvariability skill. Since most of these student teachers have access to computers every day, they can easily master the skill of manipulating the advanced technology in their teaching. They can make beautiful PPT and choose proper media with clear objectives todemonstrate what they teach and gain good effect. And they are still young and not mucholder than their targeted students, so they know the updated things their students will likeand can apply them in their lessons naturally. And the aspects they should pay moreattention in this skill is making presentation with proper oral description or explanationand guiding students to draw conclusions during presentation. As for variability skill, atleast half of them realize that monotony in their postures, facial expressions, rhythm andpitch of voice is not good for attaining their students' attention and interest. They tend tomake proper change during their lessons although it is not that natural sometimes fortheir nervousness or lack of preparation.
