re,the role of translators was to pursue linguistic equivalence desperately.It can be said that thelinguistic theories then have turned out to be the shackles on translation theories and practices.Twenty years later,the German Skopos Theory emerges,believing that a single linguistics cannotsolve translation problems and guide translation activities.The theorists advocate that research ontranslation theory should be oriented to the target language text.Then,the Text Analysis Model isproposed by Christiane Nord,one of the representative figures of the Skopos Theory.In her bookText Analysis in Translation:Theory,Methodology,and Didactic Application of a Model forTranslation-Oriented Text Analysis,Nord elaborates the translation-oriented Text Analysis Model.Nord(2006)thinks that there is no translation without the source text,so more attention should bepaid to the analysis of the source text.At the same time,she also emphasizes the need to adoptdifferent translation methods in the face of different translation purposes.To sum up,the TextAnalysis Model is mainly based on two considerations:first,the translation from source text to thetarget text is for communicative goals,so the translator should fully consider the text sender’sintention and select a translation strategy;second,only by analyzing the discourse comprehensivelycan the translator provides systematic guidance for the translation process.

Nord also refers to the term“translation brief”in the book,which means the requirements ofthe translation client for the translation.The ideal translation brief should contain the followinginformation:the intended function of the translation,the audience,the medium,the time and placeof publication,and sometimes the purpose of the translation or the motivation for publishing thetranslation(Zhang,2005).

2.2 Guiding Significance of the Theory for the Translation of ICT News

According to the Text Analysis Model,ICT news translation can be divided into three steps,namely,pre-translation,while-translation and post-translation.Pre-translation requires a thoroughanalysis of the purpose of the source and target languages.The translator needs to keep the purposeof the translation in mind,know the audience and the requirements of the translation,and decidewhich elements of the source language should be retained and which should be removed accordingto the purpose of the translation.At the same time,translators also need to understand the purposeof news translation(e.g.,entertainment,education,or propaganda),and these factors also determinethe translation techniques to be used in the translation process,the vocabulary to be chosen,and thesentence structure(Yuan,2011).The textual function,communicative motivation,and textualmedium of the extra-textual factors and the theme,content,vocabulary,and suprasegmental featuresof the intra-textual factors are some of the more prominent elements,and therefore,ICT newstranslation needs to focus on analyzing these elements.
