1. Introduction
1.1 The reason for choosing the project topic 
I have chosen the topic “The Business and Financial Performance of BlueScope Steel Ltd for the period over last three years for the research report”.

There are the several reasons for choosing the topic for the completion of OBU degree project. These include:
 Analysis of the financial statement can provide a great deal of valuable information to investors when they are making investment decisions, it Evaluate past business performance, measure current financial condition; predict the future trend of development. I intend to become a financial analyst in future.
 BlueScope Steel Ltd list on Australian Securities Exchange ASX, listed companies are easily obtained the resources related to the topic through the internet and library. It will be more easy and accurate for me to completion of OBU degree project.
 Financial analysis is one of the key topics in ACCA study. I have learned it in various papers, especially ACCA paper F7 (Financial Reporting), and F9 (Financial Management). All the knowledge I have learned will assist me to do a proper analysis.
