The reason for choosing the organization
The main reasons for choosing BlueScope Steel as the target organization for analysis are as follows:
 I have more friends working in Australia; they told me that Australia is one the world's most important resource exporter. In the recent years, international raw material prices continue growth year by year, in 2010, international raw material prices have since going higher, and as a raw material price also way of ore is rising. Thus I am interest in raw material stock.
 BlueScope Steel ranks the leading steel company in Australia and New Zealand, BlueScope Steel ranks among the leading industrial corporations on the Australian Securities Exchange ASX. This is close to me, and I would like to know whether BlueScope Steel is good stock for us to purchase its stock. Through my study on the financial and business performance, I hope that I can identify some meaningful improvement areas for this company to continue or accelerate its growth in future.

1.4 Project objective and research question
The main objective of the research is:
 To evaluate the financial situation of BlueScope Steel Ltd. It is to understand how financial performed during period of 2008-2010. This financial analysis based on ‘Consolidated’ data with these accounting ratios. This analysis will be carried out over a period of three year 2008, 2009 and 2010 using the Profitability ratios, Liquidity Ratio, Efficiency ratio and Gearing Ratio.
 To analyze the company’s performance and trend; evaluate the company’s financial situation in terms of financial performance such as liquidity position, efficiency of management, the risks attached to its financial structure and the returns it has generated for its shareholders and other interested parties.
 Compare the financial situation and performance of BlueScope Steel Ltd to its competitor Nippon steel corporation
