The translation material of this report is from the 20-chapter book Adolescence in India published by Springer Singapore Press in March 2022. There has been no Chinese version of the book since its publication. The writer selected Chapter 7 “Aggression and Violence Among Adolescents and Youth” for translation. Swati Patra, Ph.D. in Psychology, is a Professor of Psychology in the School of Social Sciences, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. 1.2 Text Type and Language Features

The source text of the translation is a theoretically psychological work, which belongs to the informative text. In A Textbook of Translation, Peter Newmark categorizes texts into three types based on the function of language: expressive text, informative text, and vocative text. This book is a theoretical psychological work that places a focus on information delivery. Therefore, according to Newmark’s classification of text, this text is classified as an informative text.
