摘要:本文是大学英语论文,通过汇总分析,发现主位结构和主位推进模式在不同分值作文中存在巨大差异,且其差异直接影响作文的最终分数。从而得出语篇功能理论对大学英语写作有指导意义。

We get 30 titles every which have 4 compositions with 5 points, 8 points, 11 points, and 14points. Firstly, the author will count the number of the three theme types appearing in the composition of different point, then get the percentage of every theme type in the composition with different point. For example, under the same title,there are four composition with 5points, 8points, 11points and 14points, the author will get the number and percentage of simple theme, multiple theme and clause theme appearing in the respective composition. In addition, the author will collect the number and percentage of three kinds of theme in 40 compositions with same points such as 5points, 8points, 11points or 14points. The author will show the data clearly by specific figures which are convenient for the next comparison and study. After collecting the data about theme in the compositions, the author will analyze the thematic progression pattern which is another critical study point. The author will collect the number and percentage of the thematic progression pattern and make forms with the same way. In the end, the author will analyze the data and get the conclusion.

Chapter 2 Literature Review
This chapter will make a literature review of textual function theory, including thematic structure, thematic progression pattern. Meanwhile, the related studies about of college English wiring teaching will be illustrated in this part.
2.1 Textual Function Study
Halliday concludes three meta-function of the Systematic Functional Grammar which are ideational meta-function, interpersonal meta-function and textual meta-function. The textual function is composed of thematic structure, information structure and cohesion. The thematic progression pattern is the out reflection of combination of information structure and cohesion. There have been many researches about the textual function study. For examples, “the study of Obama Speech with the textual function of SFG”, and “High School Students’ Reading Teaching Methods with Textual Function of SFG” More and more scholars realize the practical function of SFG as they have applied it to many aspects such as English learning, appreciating and teaching. As the SFG pays much attention to the meaning function of the elements in the sentences, it is very useful to analyze the deep meaning of text so many papers are about the new findings of some speech, news or famous works.
