本文是一篇英语翻译论文题目,笔者认为CEA框架不以任何一家理论作为分析框架,但分析中可以随时提及任何理论。因此进行第四章的案例分析时,在理解方面,笔者从理解写作动机及理解原文语言特点的角度,主要运用尤金·奈达的功能对等理论,通过联系上下文等处理方式,对原文进行理解翻译;

Chapter Two Translation Task

2.1 Translation Background

With the rapid development of our society, the importance of Education is becoming increasingly prominent. Especially since the introduction of English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education 2022 Year Edition, the goal of cultivating students’ core competencies has put forward new requirements for teachers’ skills and professional competences. Learning advanced and effective teaching methods and educational concepts from abroad is an important awareness that teachers in the new era should deliberately cultivate.

There are many works of English teaching both at home and abroad, such as Jeremy Harmer’s How to Teach English, Penny Ur’s A Course in Language Teaching: Practice of Theory (Cambridge Teacher Training and Development), Cheng Xiaotang’s 《核心素养下的英语教学理论与实践》, Wu Bailan’s《信息化背景下大学英语教学研究与实践》and so on. Furthermore, there are also many translation works of English teaching, for example, Ren Youqun et al. translated Handbook of Research on Educational Communications and Technology into 《教育传播与技术研究手册》, Chen Jiagang and Cheng Jiaming translated Rethinking Education in the Age of Technology into 《技术时代重新思考教育》etc.

2.2 Translation Material

Learning Teaching is one of Macmillan Books for Teachers by Macmillan Publishers Limited, which is one of the three major English Language Teaching (ELT) publishing institutions in the world, aiming to help teachers develop their teaching repertoire, practical skill and theoretical knowledge. Jim Scrivener has worked in many different countries, including Russia, Georgia and Hungary. He was Head of Teacher Training for International House Hastings, Director of Education for IH Budapest and is currently Head of Teacher Development for Bell International, where he designed the Online Delta course. He was leader of the team that designed the Euro exams and has been actively involved with Cambridge ESOL exams including design of their online teacher portfolio. He is also the author of Teaching English Grammar which won the English-Speaking Union Award for Best Entry for Teachers in 2010. 

Chapter Three Theoretical Basis

3.1 The CEA Framework

The CEA framework was proposed by Li Chuangshuan in his book Meaning and Expression: Annotated Texts in Chinese-English Translation, co-authored with Lynette Shi, to comprehensively review the translation practice. It provides the translation principles and techniques translators should follow in the translation process. According to the framework, fully understanding the ST and conveying what the author of the ST expresses or wishes to express in the rules of composition are required.
