摘要:本文是一篇英语论文提纲,本研究将多模态批评话语分析的研究范畴拓宽到电影语篇,验证了多模态批评话语分析方法在分析电影语篇中语言模态、视觉模态和听觉模态的适用性。

inequality are enacted,reproduced,and resisted by text and talk in the social andpolitical context.”Critical Linguistics was firstly proposed by Fowler et al(1979)inLanguage and Control.Fairclough(1989)latter proposed critical discourse analysis inLanguage and Power.It focuses on the relation between ideology and discourse byanalyzing language,and explores how discourse emerges and serves from socialinstitution and power relations.Then he proposed a three-dimensional framework ofcritical discourse analysis:description,interpretation and explanation.This offers thefundamental analytical structure for conducting critical discourse analysis.Manystudies are produced within the three-dimensional framework.As one of the pioneers,Van Dijk has made important contributions to critical discourse analysis.In the bookDiscourse and Context:A Socio-cognitive Approach,Van Dijk(2008)introducedsocial cognition into the study of critical discourse analysis and developed a contextualmodel and a framework for analyzing discourse.It emphasizes the role of mindbetween discourse and society(Xin&Liu,2017).And this approach has beensuccessful in studying issues related to racism,hegemony,and inequality.Furthermore,van Dijk(2013)constructed a triangular model that integrates discourse,cognition and social discourse analysis.Wodak(2015)pay attention to the social changes andproposed a discourse-historical approach that emphasizes analyzing discourse withinits historical context.

2.2 Studies on Multimodal Discourse Analysis

In the field of multimodal studies,Barthes is considered as one of the pioneeringscholars to carry out multimodal discourse analysis.In Rhetoric of the Figurepublished in 1977,he discussed the interaction between figure and language in theprocess of meaning expression and construction.And after this,multimodal discourseentered the field of linguistic research.Meanwhile,the three metafunctions have laidan important theoretical foundation for multimodal discourse analysis.O’toole(1994)proposed the metafunction of art on the basis of functional linguistics.Drawing on thisframework,he categorized the functions of visual elements as representational,interactive and compositional function and conducted an analysis of various forms ofart including paintings,sculptures,and architecture.This comprehensive classificationsheds light on the diverse ways in which visual elements contribute to the overallartistic expression across different art forms.His book The Language of Display Artpublished in 1994 is regarded as the beginning for visual figures with the help ofsystematic functional grammar.Since then,scholars have begun to study the meaning construction in multimodal discourse.And O’toole(2004)put forward acomprehensive framework to analyze the filmic discourse.Reading Figures:theGrammar of Visual Design of Kress and van Leeuwen(1996)explores how figuresconvey meanings by three metafunctions of systemic functional grammar.This resultsin the visual grammar that is then gradually applied in research.In addition to figures,scholars gradually expanded their focus to auditory.The framework of auditorygrammar was not initially proposed until Speech,Music,Sound published in 1999.Hediscovered some commonalities between sound and figure,and discussed the roles ofsound in six aspects:perspective,time,interacting sounds,melody,sound quality andmodality.Based on Halliday’s functional grammar,Griffith and Machin(2014)introduced a framework 论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
