摘要:本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,笔者认为对于英语这门外语来说,要让学生提高对语言的理解能力,掌握其特定的应用场合,保证口语交流的有效性,就需要给学生提供生动直观与形象的语境,激发学生口语表达的欲望,增强学生的交际能力,提高学生的语言理解能力和运用技巧。

本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,本研究在高一年级两个平行班进行为期18周的教学实验,实验班有36人,对照班有36人,实验班采用情境教学法进行英语口语教学,对照班则沿用传统教学法进行英语口语教学,研究利用问卷调查法、测试法以及访谈法。

Chapter 1 Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study

For a long time,the teaching of spoken English in China has been hampered by thetraditional teaching methods that focus on grammar and translation.Early screening andidentifying of reading difficulties may lead to better outcomes for all students(Newell,Codding&Fortune,2020).Many teachers can skillfully reproduce the knowledge related totextbooks,organize and control classroom activities effectively.However,oral Englishteaching is restricted by objective conditions.Firstly,most senior high school students learnEnglish in a Chinese environment and they usually communicate in Chinese instead ofEnglish.Except for a few English classes in a week,students have little chance to learnEnglish.Even in the English classroom,some teachers and students wouldn’t speak English.The chances that the students improve their oral ability are limited.Secondly,under theinfluence of exam-oriented Education,both teachers and students ignore spoken English.Thestudents do well in the grammatical exercise but do badly in making an intelligible Englishconversation after learning English in language classes for more than six years(He,2001).Many students mistakenly believe that the purpose of learning English is to pass exams andenter college.Although oral English tests have been introduced into secondary and collegeentrance exams,the results have little impact on students’further studies.Some students eventhink that the oral test is just a formality,it is easy to make middle school students think that itis a waste of time to practice oral skills.In fact,there are many teachers who have this idea.Inmany cases,teachers lack the strategies and methods of oral English teaching,neglect thecultivation of students’oral communicative competence and pay little attention to oralteaching.Although students have a solid grasp of English vocabulary and grammar,they canhardly express themselves in English in daily life.

1.2 Purpose and Significance of the Study

In Han Xueting’s investigation,high school students’oral application ability does notmeet the requirements of the New Curriculum Standard(Han,2018).The study will help applythe situational teaching approach to teaching oral English to the Chinese senior high schoolstudents.Situational teaching method is a teaching method that conforms to the requirementsof the new curriculum reform and the modern educational concept.It pays attention to thestudents’emotional experience,and makes the students get a positive and good learningexperience through the integration of situations.Teachers can use various and intuitive teaching situations to help students devote themselves to the process of learning English,so asto improve the autonomy of English learning and build efficient English class.The study willhelp the learners in senior high school to actively participate in learning processes.TakingPEP Senior High School English Course Unit 2 Traveling Around as an example.Beforeteaching,the teacher uses multimedia to play the iconic tourism scenery of different countriesfor the students,so as to lead the contents of tourism topics and arouse the students’oralinterest(Chen,2021).The students will learn the importance of participating 论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
