George Lakoff and Mark Johnson(1980)published their epoch-making work,Metaphors We Live By.Then Andrew Ortony(1993)published Metaphor and Thought,whichalso explored metaphor from the dimensions of thinking and cognition.The publication ofthese two works broke through the limitation of metaphor research in traditional linguisticsand formed the theory of conceptual metaphor.Since then,the international academic circlehas made a fundamental change in the understanding of metaphor.They believe that metaphor is not only a kind of language modification,but also a basic way of human cognitive andthinking activities,and language is only the external form of concept and thinking activities.Thus,the study of metaphor has realized a magnificent turn from the field of rhetoric to thestudy of cognition.

Homeless to Harvard:The Liz Murray Story is a classic American film,which tells theinspirational story of a girl who overcame mountains of difficulties and finally was admittedto Harvard.Directed by Peter Levi and starred by Thora Birch and Michael Rile,lasting for104 minutes,the film has been thought highly of since it was released in the United States onApril 7,2003.It gets a high score of 8.2 points on Douban and won the honor of theChristopher Awards in 2004.
