As a reputed translator, he has  been  devoted  to  English  translation  of  Chinese  classics  involving  not  only philosophic, historical, and literary classics but also folk songs present and past, and to Chinese  translation  of  English  classics,  such  as  the  plays  of  Shakespeare,  realizing remarkable innovation in translating strategies and methods (Wang Xiaonong 2014).  Wang  Zuoliang  once  said  in  his  book  Translation:  Experiments  and  Reflections that  “Only  a  poet  can  translate  poems  well”,  and  he  further  pointed  out  that  “Poets translating  poems  is  a  win-win  situation  for  poetry  translation  is  a  bilateral  exchange that  the  translator  can  put  his  poem  writing  experience  into  poem  translation  and  get inspiration  from  poetry  translation  for  his  poetic  creation  at  the  same  time.”  (Wang Zuoliang  1989:  54-79)  With  his  scholarly  attainments  and  his  poetic  experiences, Wang’s  translations  are  well  grounded  and  we  have  good  reasons  to  expect  excellent translated works out of his hand.

Conclusion 

As  a  conclusion  of  this  thesis,  this  chapter  will  summarize  the  major  findings  of this  study,  and  also  make  clear  the  limitations  of  this  research  attempt  and  give  some suggestions for further research.In  the  previous  three  chapters,  based  on  a  literature  review,  where  some  relevant studies of Yuan Qu poems are introduced, and on a preliminary analysis, involving the origin  and  characteristics  of Yuan  Qu  poems,  the  difficulties  in  translation  of  Yuan  Qu poems,  and  the  general  translating  strategies  and  methods  employed  in  practices,  a study of Wang’s English translations of the Chinese Yuan Qu poems has been conducted.
