摘要:本文是一篇英语语言学论文,笔者认为目前学界对中国特色外交话语的翻译研究主要集中于探讨外交话语的翻译原则以及外交术语的翻译,较少关注外交语境中修辞的翻译研究。

e aesthetic translation of phonological rhetorical devices in non-literary texts has also been studied by some scholars. Therefore, this section concentrates on the summary of previous studies of translation of phonological rhetorical devices mainly from three aspects: poetic translation, non-poetry literary translation and non-literary translation. 

2.2.1 Poetic Translation

Many scholars have explored the translation of rhyme beauty in poetry, and most of them believe in a positive attitude that the sound beauty of poetry can be transplanted when translating. Guo (1920) points out that “style translation” can be considered as the basic principle of poetic translation. That is to say, translators can achieve sound beauty by translating the style of the original poems. Apart from that, Xu (1983) proposes the three principles for poetic translation: the beauty of meaning, the beauty of sound and the beauty of form. Specifically, Bao (2003) probes into the common and different features of rhyme scheme that Chinese and English poems bear, and argues that although there exist different rhyme patterns, people in different cultures still share the common subjective cognition and feelings of sounds, which, in turn, achieves the possibility of converting the poetic rhyme in the process of transcultural translation and of attaining the same goal in different forms. Li and Wang (2018) study the strategy of the rhyme translation of Shijing and propose that the translators should not be obsessed with the absolute consistency in the rhythm of the original poem and the translated poem but should focus more on the rhyme beauty of the translated poem and devote themselves to the harmony and unity of the rhythm and artistic style of the translated one.
