Mankinds live individually but meanwhile they struggle for their survival as a team.

1.2 Research Significance
The findings of this research would be of significance in three aspects: Theoretically, this research makes certain contributions to the theories of critical discourse analysis. As we know, most of the discourse analyses are studied under the Fairclough’s  theories  and  Halliday’s  systematical  grammar  theories.  Therefore  the rhetorical  analysis  of  the  discourse  can  serves  as  a  brand-new  and  different perspective to the discourse explanations. This study chooses the news editorial as the artifacts which approved to have strong explanation power of the rhetorical theories, especially the new rhetoric.  Practically, the research can help people to gain a better knowledge of the news editorials about the political issues, especially the underlying motives. And the study helps news readers to keep a sober mind and a critical thinking about what the editors or  the  rhetors  say.  Also  accordingly,  their  cross-cultural  awareness  can  also  be enhanced to a certain degree. Pedagogically, after being given the deliberate process of the construction of the rhetorical  strategies  used  in  the  news  editorials,  the  students  can  learn  some persuasive strategies when they try to persuade others. It can help students to organize their speeches and compositions more logically and technically.

2.1 Previous Studies on News Discourses

News, which seems to be impartial and objective, actually has a great influence on what attitudes ordinary people hold towards the outside world. What is described in  a  news  discourse  is  always  easily  accepted  by  the  general  public  who  take  it  as accurate  and  real  even  without  doubt  or  hesitation.  Nevertheless,  reporters  not  only present the news event itself, but also express their attitudes towards the event at the same time. One thing should be noticed that the news discourse is highly selected.
