s,  taking  objects  like verbs,  are  actually  undergoing  a  process  of  decategorization,  which  is  activated  by  the change of the speaker’s conceptualization process of adjectives.  Human’s  conecptualization  process  of  adjectives  and  verbs  are  different.  Usually adjectives take a summary scanning while verbs undergo a sequential scanning in which the  time  dimension  has  to  be  considered.  During  the  production  process  of adjective-object construction, the speaker transforms the conceptualization approach of adjectives,  namely  the  atemporal  relation,  to  process  relation  with  a  metonymy  being used  to  highlight  the  final  status.  This  production  process  proves  that  the  boundary between adjectives and verbs is fuzzy.  In addition, the syntactic form, semantic and pragmatic features of adjective-object construction  are  also  found  in  this  thesis.  Syntactically,  there  are  12  monosyllabic adjectives  and  200  disyllabic  adjectives  that  can  take  objects  and  their  proportion respectively  are  5.6%  and  94.3%.  The  form  of  adjective-object  construction  can  be divided  into  four  types:  (1)  adjective  +  noun;  (2)  adjective  +  modifier  +  noun;  (4) adjective + quantifier; (3) adjective + dynamic auxiliary word + noun. Semantically, the change  of  the  conceptualization  of  adjectives  leads  to  adjectives’  taking  the  following four  types  of  objects,  that  is,  patient,  target,  range  and  proposition,  among  which  the patient takes the largest proportion of 77.4%. Pragmatically, the use of adjective-object construction reflects the principles of novelty and economy of language.
