 assays  mainly  revolve  around  the  theme, creational motivation, character images, art features and language of Wo De Di Wang Sheng Ya. According to the retrieval in the CNKI database, there are five researches on My Life as Emperor, since it is published in 2005. There exist two theses written by Li Biao(2013) and Wang Zhen(2014) from the perspective of translator’s subjectivity. Li Biao in his thesis Translator's Subjectivity in Howard Goldblatt's My Life as Emperor concludes that first and foremost, the translator’s subjectivity, arising at the outset  of  translation  activities,  is  a  kind  of  inherent  features  of  translators  and constantly exists in the process of translation, no matter the translator realizes it or not. According  to  its  function,  the  translation  presence  will  be  felt  clearly  and  explicitly. Secondly, such subject factors as the translator’s personal experience and capability, the purpose of translation and translation thought, etc. will exert enormous influence on choosing the text to be translated.  Apparently,  Li  Biao  proves  that  subjectivity  does  exist  in  the  translation. However,  there  is  a  weak  connection  between  his  analysis  and  his  theoretical  basis, namely,  Professor  Lv  Jun’s  interpretation  of  three  paradigms  for  Chinese  translation study,  Skopos  theory  and  the  theory  of  manipulation  school.  Moreover,  what  make readers more confused are how these three theories are connected and how these three theories are applied in his thesis to help explain his viewpoint.  In  the  paper  The  Translation  of  Wo  De  Di  Wang  Sheng  Ya  from  the  Combined Perspective  of  Translation  Norms  and  the  Subjectivity  of  the  Translator  by  Wang Zhen (2014), she explains how translation forms and translator’s subjectivity exactly exert  influence  on  translation  at  great  length.  Wang  pays  a  lot  of  attention  to  the translation  strategies  Glodmatt  adopts  under  the  influence  of  translation  forms  and personal subjectivity. The comment about Glodmatt’s translation Wang collects from western  world  makes  this  paper  more  convictive  and  objective.  However,  as  a historical novel, the palace culture related translation in the English version is worth studying more from author’s point of view.

2.2 Limitations of Previous Studies
