However, there are often some obstacles in communication between the reader and the writer. Based on the theories of psycholinguistic perspective and communicative approach, this paper is concerned with the causes of the communicative obstacles through a brief analysis of the linguistic level and the non-linguistic level factors that cause these obstacles in Chinese students’ English reading comprehension. The thesis writer intends to sort out some feasible reading strategies for readers, providing they could apply those strategies to overcome the communicative obstacles in their reading comprehension practice and become efficient readers.
