摘要:Up till now, the policy has been applied for more than six years, and the first freenormal students have graduated for a year. As pre-service teacher, tuition-free normalstudents’ professional identity has caused great attention in the whole society, because itdetermined whether they can dedicate to work in rural areas.
ⅠIntroduction
1.1 Background of the Research
The free Education system for normal students has existed nearly thousand years, but itwas ended in 2003. The students could not enjoy free normal education at universalities anymore. At the same time, the obligation for normal students to service at primary andsecondary school was also ended. They could choose their future job freely, so the problemsappeared that fewer students wanted to enter the normal colleges or universities, and eventhe normal students who graduate from colleges or universities are not willing to be teachersas their careers especially working in rural areas.As everyone knows, the education quality in less developed countryside is quite poorand the level of education development and the relative investment cannot meet the needs oflocal people. There are many reasons that cause the education quality decline in rural areas,but the most important one is that the teachers in these areas leave for the prosperous citiesfor various reasons; as a result, the teaching stuffs are not steadily. Meanwhile, there is noclear channel for outstanding students to supply the gap. Therefore, it is necessary to attractand train a group of excellent normal students to join in the teaching fields forless-developed cities.It is clear that we have made great progress in education since Reform and Opening-upPolicy in China, but we should realize that the education quality in rural primary andsecondary schools are still quite poor. In some ways, the unbalanced education qualityequals to the unbalanced teachers. So for the purpose of ensuring the teaching stuff steadilyof rural areas and improving their education quality from the origin, at the beginning of2007, Premier Wen promised that the free education for normal students’ policy must appearagain in his report on government work. He pointed that government will build up a relativesystem in order to carry out the free normal education policy in the six universities whichbelong to the Education Ministry.

What are their professional volition? And what factors can influencetheir views? What’s more, what are the differences between the tuition-free normal studentsand other normal students at majors’ training?
