摘要:语言学习策略研究的应用语言学一直是一个热门话题,语言学习策略训练的研究,近年来,已经取得了一定的成果。然而,国内研究的学习策略的研究对象的许多关注英语专业和工程学生,学生的艺术发展的特殊群体,但缺乏关注。

LLS was a neutral concept that every student had his own suitable choice, but in aword, through many experiments and researches, LLS training was proved to have apositive effect on language proficiency (as O’Malley and Chamot’s LearningStrategies in Second Language Acquisition (2001), Oxford’s Language LearningStrategies: What Every Teacher Should Know (1990), Wenden’s Learner Strategies forLearner Autonomy (1991), and Cohen’s Strategies in Learning and Using a SecondLanguage (1998a) ) and could help to improve students’ learning attitudes andemotional factors towards English learning.There were a large number of studies on LLS aboard and home, but most of theprevious studies focused on college non-art majors and specific skills training, andonly few studies of LLS on art majors existed in Chinese college context.Art majors are a special group which has been ignored by most English teachersfor a long time. Art students do not have steady English foundation; what’s more, theirmotivation level is lower than other majors. English teachers should pay attention tothese art majors, have a careful observation of their learning strategy orientation andgive a necessary guidance to their study.The present study will focus on the LLS training on college art majors, and try tofind out some realistic problems and appropriate solutions for art majors’ Englishlearning with instrument of questionnaire and test. It also gives the present study bothacademic and realistic significations.

 

1.2 Purpose and Significance of the Present Study研究意义和目的
根据不同的研究和调查,中国大学生通常有一个低能力的应用程序在学习策略,尤其是对艺术专业According to various researches and investigations, Chinese college studentsgenerally have a lower capability of application in learning strategy, especially for artmajors. After many years of middle school life, students have got into the habit ofexam-oriented education. They have received a large amount of knowledge asvocabulary, grammar and sentence patterns in daily learning; unfortunately, they willnever become an initiative learner themselves. On that condition, for our collegesand universities, one of the problems urgently needing to be solved is teaching studentshow to learn English. As Cao (2009) has expressed in her thesis: “In condition ofcollege English, LLS training aims at arousing students’ concept of LLS and promotethe ideas. Students are expected to choose suitable learning strategies for themselvesand improve learning efficiency”. (Cao Jinghua, 2009:64-65)For the teachers, this thesis aims at providing education researchers and collegeEnglish teachers with the information about art majors and their learning strategies use.What’s more, in the LLS training procedure, teachers should provide students usefulsuggestions and help them supervise and evaluate their learning strategies in order tofacilitate their learning process. And the final goal is to help students become moreproficient language learners, which can also develop the ability of autonomouslearning and set the stage for life-long learning.The study on LLS training can not only provide empirical evidence to teachersbut also make a contribution to the reform of college English education.
