摘要:在这项研究中,通过问卷调查和访谈的形式对新疆大学外语自主学习的整体状况做研究。研究英语和俄罗斯这两种语言之间,不同年级学生的学习是否存在差异,以及自觉学习的影响因素。

There is also an autonomouslearning centre which is free to both English and Russian learner where they canpractice their autonomous learning.Since both English and Russia are ranked as excellent courses, the authorconducts a survey on learner autonomy, trying to find out after the construction ofExcellent Course, whether the learner autonomy is developed among students andwhether there are differences of learner autonomy between English majors andRussian majors since language proficiency level may affect the development oflearner autonomy, in the hope of fostering students¡¯ autonomous learning ability andhelping them improve language performance effectively, as well as providingpractical implications to language learning and teaching in our college.

 

1.3 Significance
Autonomous learning ability plays an important role in social development,education reform and even personal growth. As the main force of the development ofthe future society, college students¡¯ autonomous learning ability is not only vital toindividual¡¯ growth but also related to the sustainable development to society.The study is significant in that it complies with the objective request of thequality education and the curriculum reform, that is to equip students with lifelonglearning ability. Besides, the data collected in the present study can directly reflect theconditions of the students learning; what¡¯s more, it can be used as basic teachinginformation, and provide pedagogical implications for teachers to  teachingmethods improve teaching quality. The structure of the study will be presented in thefollowing part.

 

1.4 Structure
The thesis consists of five chapters: chapter one is an introduction, which makesa general description about this study, analyzes the purpose and significance of thisstudy and presents the layout of the thesis. Chapter two serves as a literature review,which gives definitions of some key terms, followed by an introduction of thetheoretical framework for the present study and a review of the previous studies madeboth at home and abroad. Chapter three is methodology, which presents the researchdesigns, including research questions, the subjects, the instruments, data collectionand analysis. Chapter four reports the results. Chapter five summarizes the majorfindings of the study, discusses its pedagogical implications, points out its limitationsand offers suggestions for further studies.
