erb and its parent in theHP group are nearly the same as those in the AD group,but they differ in ranks.For instance,the type rep takes up 21.09%in the AD group whereas it only accounts for1.82%in the HP group,suggesting that the AD patients are more inclined to repeat theverbs.In addition,the type conj(conjunct)ranks first in both AD group and the HPgroup.However,conj in the AD group takes up 24.17%while that of the HP grouptakes up 19.55%,indicating that the HPs are more likely to produce longer and morecomplex sentence,same as the results presented before.Meanwhile,the number ofdominant types of the verbs in Chinese-speaking AD patients is more than that of theEnglish-speaking counterpart,indicating that the Chinese verbs in AD patients maymore be likely to govern other words.Moreover,the number of subordinate types isnearly the same in the two groups,showing that both Chinese and English verbs havesimilar probabilistic valency patterns of being governed.
