摘要:关于教师的第一年的心酸教学历程,作为教师应该有什么样的信念呢?教师究竟会有什么样的福利和津贴呢

ey are breakable. Students are around a teacher's desk on a daily basis and the middle school years are some of these 'tweens most awkward and klutzy. They will feel as badly as you do should something you care for accidentally break. Having a cozy space in which to that is a reflection of you is important, just remember the age group you are instructing.

Another addition to the teacher desk, may be a podium or high desk at the front of the room. Often times teachers spend the first ten or fifteen minutes of class explaining assignments and utilizing visual aids a the board before students work independently or get into their groups. A podium or high desk gives the teacher a place to put the materials she uses without having to situate a desk directly in front of the white board.

Student Seating

There are many ways to set up student seating, rows, groups, squares. For the novice educator in her first weeks of teaching it is suggested that student desks are arranged in good old fashion rows before experimenting with grouping. Working in groups along with peer input is vital for most successful students. However, especially in the middle school years, classroom management may become a bit more of a challenge when they are grouped together. Therefore, new teachers may begin the year in rows and simply have students group their desks on the days they are working on collaborative lessons. This gives educators in their early years an opportunity to fine tune their classroom management skills before trying different desk arrangements that may create a ruckus.

There are many things to remember when seating students. First and foremost, be sure a student can see from where he is sitting. Focus is a challenge faced by many middle school students. hey are easily distracted. If they cannot see what is going on, they will most certainly loose concentration on the lesson. Additionally, as discussed in the chapter on lesson plans, many students are visual learners. That means they learn by seeing. If they can not see it they are learning it.

Naturally, before setting up student seating you will want contact your guidance counselor or specialist to confirm whether you will be having any students who require specific seating accommodations. Sometimes students will need to sit by the door, or have an education plans that suggests they are seated in the front of the room for optimum success. Seating will likely be rearranged several times throughout the eyar, but this will help the new teacher prepare as best to get through her first weeks getting to know her students.

It helps to design a classroom before beginning to move furniture around. Districts today regularly provide network software that helps teachers organize their lesson plans, seating charts, and grading all in one. This way, when a teacher receives her roster, she can automatically import her students into seating chart and digitally rearrange seats to accommodate students who necessitate special seating. If new teachers have not already been introduced to this software through the first week of district workshops, they should check with their IT support person on how to access this program. By utilizing these suggestions seating will be a breeze from the first day of class until she gets to know her students and where they would best fit into the arrangement.
