4.1 Results of Classroom Observations

In order to support the results of the questionnaire,fully understand the specificsituation and influence between teachers’classroom discourse and students’classroomparticipation in junior high school English listening and speaking classes,and increasethe reliability of the results of the survey from September 4,2023,to December 15,2023,two English teachers were observed in 15 lessons each,for a total of 30 lessons,and the classroom observation was carried out using the classroom discourseobservation scale for junior high school English teachers to objectively and impartiallyrecord the real situation in the classroom.The discourse observation scale is used toobjectively and fairly record the real situation in the classroom.

In English classroom teaching,the amount of teachers’classroom discourse isclosely related to students’English learning and also affects all aspects of students’learning.However,the amount of teachers’classroom discourse should be relativelydominant.In addition to the teacher,there are also students in the classroom,andstudents are the main body of the classroom,and the amount of students’classroomdiscourse is what should be emphasized.If the dominant amount of discourse in theschool comes from the teacher,it will place the students in a weaker position andguarantee a lower output of discourse.Therefore,comparing the amount of teachers’and students’classroom discourse can play a role in the students’main position in theclassroom and promote the learning and improvement of knowledge.

5.1 Major Findings

The following major findings of this study have been drawn from the survey,observations were conducted in junior high school English speaking and listeninglessons to analyze teachers’classroom discourse and students’classroom participation.The data was then analyzed and discussed:

Firstly,in junior high school English listening and speaking class,the amount ofdiscourse from the teacher is more than that from the students,the teachers’demonstration discourse is not clear,the object of questioning is unclear,and thefeedback method is single.In terms of classroom demonstration discourse,studentsthink that the teacher’s tone of voice is rather flat and lacks passion,which will makestudents doze off easily in the classroom,and that the English teacher’s tone of voiceand affinity in the classroom need to be further adjusted.In terms of classroomquestioning discourse,the teacher tends to ask questions from the textbook,and factualand referential questions predominate,and likes to name the students t论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
