s  of  the  news  events  without  any  bias.  However,  in  fact,  news  reports  are  not only  records  of  what  happens,  but  also  contain  comments  and  attitudes  towards  the events  from  a  certain  perspective.  Just  as  Fowler  (1991)  once  points  out  that  news reports  are  products  of  social  and  political  world.  That  is,  news  reports  are  by  no means  the  facts  of  the  world,  but  are  written  by  the  journalists  from  certain perspectives.  Therefore,  news  reports  are  not  always  objective  but  ideology-loaded. News  reports  not  only  tell  people  what  happens  in  the  world  but  more  importantly, control and dominate people’s values and beliefs unconsciously. However, ideology is not  transparent  but  is  embedded  in  news  reports,  thus  people  have  to  carefully  read  between the lines to unveil hidden ideology. CDA is famous for exposing the hidden ideology  behind  the  news  reports  and  a  large number  of  outstanding scholars in this field have made great contributions to the critical analysis of news reports.
