摘要:本文是英语阅读论文,本研究将探讨教师如何运用不同的视觉语篇模式,从逻辑语义关系的角度来阐述、延伸和提高教师话语实现教学功能。
p;to apply the theory of Halliday’s logic-semantic relations to analyze multimodal discourse in English MOOC classroom. The purpose of the study will be presented from two aspects. Firstly, nowadays, the rapid development of information technology has a profound influence on the classroom language teaching (Zhang 2015). More and more visual texts, such as pictures, cartoons, diagrams and videos are applied into the language classroom teaching. Compared with verbal mode dominant in the traditional language teaching, the different modes of visual texts applied into the language teaching can make a vivid linguistic environment for language teaching and learning. Then, the relationship between the linguistic environment established by different kinds of visual texts and teacher’s teaching has become an essential issue to explore. Furthermore, the present study conducts an analysis of multimodal discourse of an English language MOOC from the perspective of logic-semantic relations of Halliday’s Systematic Functional Linguistics. Although many scholars (Martinec & Salway 2005; Liu 2003; Yu 2009) applies Halliday’s logic-semantic relations to analyze the image-text relations, little research has been done to analyze the visual texts and teacher’s talk relations in MOOC language classroom teaching by the application of the theories of Halliday’s logic-semantic relations. Therefore, this study can make some contributions to MDA research. Therefore, this current study is devoted to the multimodal discourse analysis of an English MOOC classroom discourse, trying to explore relations between visual texts and the teacher’s talk, specifically, to explore how the different modes used in the English MOOC classroom interact with each other so as to promote effective classroom teaching.
