摘要:本文是一篇高中英语论文,本研究依托奥苏贝尔的有意义学习理论和维果斯基的文化历史理论,采用文献研究法、问卷调查法、课堂观察法、访谈法和实验法。
本文是一篇高中英语论文,本研究选取辽宁省鞍山市某高中一年级110名学生作为问卷调查人群。并进行教师课堂教学观察,访谈6名学生及3名教师,并对2个教学班85名学生进行为期17周的教学实验。实验中,采用同一教师、同一教材进行教学。通过两次测试,利用SPSS21.0软件对实验结果进行比较分析并得出结论。
Chapter 1 Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
English has become increasingly important in the development of China, while the traditional English reading teaching model has met its own trouble in progress. As English Curriculum Criteria for the Regular High School (revised in 2020) (hereinafter referred to as English Curriculum Criteria) said that English Education in its current form was failing to meet the needs of contemporary social and economic development. The Education Ministry of the PRC issued a new standard in English teaching. Therefore, the mission to perform what the government requires is combined with the need to meet what the times requires.
1.1.1 The Existing Circumstances of English Reading Classes Pattern in High School
Foreign language teaching in China, especially in terms of English language teaching, has been attached great importance to by the government, in turn by the Chinese students.
As one of the most important basic skills, reading comprehension is, and should be paid enough attention to. However, the result is not that satisfactory in view of the existing circumstances. The teaching pattern of English reading classes in high school is still the kind of traditional teaching model, which seems a little inefficient.
Generally speaking, people hold the common belief for a long time that English is just an instrumental subject, whose purpose is often to help students to learn some phonetic, linguistic, basic structure knowledge, or some skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. To some degree, this kind of learning is simply the shallow understanding of a language. It’s acknowledged that students don’t need to care more about the cultural knowledge or logic thinking beyond the language.
1.2 Purpose of the Study
As is stated above, strengthening the cultural awareness cultivation in the teaching of English reading in high school is required by the times, guided by teaching materials, and relied upon by teachers. Against the background of economic and educational development, the mission of this study is to fully lay emphasis on the crucial status of the cultural awareness cultivation in English reading teaching, and to confirm the correlation between the cultural awareness cultivation and English reading achievements in high school.
Learning English has become a trend all over the world for long. Learning English well has been a must for the high school students who want to attend university. The task to help students learn well is significant for educators of English. Many approaches have been applied to. Many parts of the language have been emphasized.
It is universally recognized that reading is a complex cognitive activity, which is an important part of linguistics and psychological research. On the basis of common belief that English reading achievements are essential for students who are eager to attend a better university, some teachers of English try to seek solutions to the improvement of English achievements in a quick and effective way.
