4.1 General situation of short videos in TikTok in motivating dialect use and transmission

One of the major aims of the research is to show the influence of the short videos in TikTok on the dialect transmission and inheritance. To this end, Table 4.1 gives a general description of the number and the Top-5 distribution of audience in dialect short videos in China, which shows the short videos in TikTok creating the new platform for the revitalization of dialect use and transmission. 

As demonstrated in Table 4.1, it is found that the number of audience has been obtained. A high number of followers normally means a larger audience. If compared with a dialect speaking village or community, the number of audience has far exceeded the number of the village or community. This shows that short videos can promote the transmission of dialects. Among the top three bloggers with the largest number of audience, they mainly speak Guizhou dialect, Northeast dialect, Liaoning dialect. This clearly shows that dialects are transmitted actively in Tik Tok. 

Chapter Five Conclusion

5.1 Major findings

This research mainly uses the discourse analysis, case study, theatrical analysis method to analyze the real data about phenomenon of dialect transmission by short videos from the perspective of pragmatic act theory. This research explores the dialect short videos in TikTok deeply, and the major findings can be summarized as follows:
