摘要:本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,本文基于需求分析理论,对高中生的英语听力学习需求进行全面的、科学的分析和了解,为以学生为中心的高中英语听力教学提供可参考的数据。

research of ESP(English for SpecificPurposes),focusing on the learning needs of learners under the target scenario.Nowadays,the needs analysis theory had been gradually applied to all fields of Englisheducation,which greatly promoted the development and progress of English education.This section will focused on the definition,classification of needs and the model ofneeds analysis.

2.1.1 Definition of foreign language learning needs

According to literature,“needs”is still a vague term in the field of foreignlanguages,and its exact meaning has not been defined.The object of this study isEnglish learners,whose target language is English,so the needs mentioned here referredto the needs for English learning.The following was the definition of needs related tomy research.

Widdowson(1981)thought that needs referred to the learners’learning needs atpresent and job needs in the future,and the things learners must do at the end of thecourse of foreign language.

2.2 General introduction of cognitive style

In the previous section,we have understood the definition,classification and themodel of foreign language needs analysis.This chapter will review the definitions,classifications and characteristics of cognitive style and definitions and characteristicsof field cognitive style.The definition,classification and characteristics of cognitivestyle will be introduced firstly,then,followed by the of definitions and characteristicsthe field cognitive style.

2.2.1 Definition of cognitive style

Cognitive style,also known as cognitive mode,was a preferred and habitual wayfor individuals to organize and represent information.In previous studies,cognitivestyle had unified cognitive processes and personality.There were no less than twenty orthirty different concepts of cognitive style both domestically and internationally.Thefollowing were the definitions of cognitive style compiled by various scholars.

Witkin(1973)believed that cognitive style was actually a form of expression in thefield of cognition,and its function was broader compared to other forms in the field ofpsychology of personality and social behavior.
