Ofthe British National Corpus (BNC^, written language accounts for 90%, and oral languageaccounts for 10%，and the structure of the whole corpus can be shown in table2. BrownCorpus does not include spoken language, and its way of collecting written language ismuch different from that of BNC whose structure can be shown in HeAnping(2004:141-143). The text length of BNC is uneven, ranging from 25 words to436048 words; however, the text length of Brown Corpus is fixed at around 2000 wordsand the excess text will be deleted.
