2.1 Studies on Curriculum Ideological and Political Education
2.1.1 Definition of curriculum ideological and political education
To understand the definition,it’s a must to know what a curriculum is.American scholar Scott(1979)considered curriculum as one of the most commonlyused but the least defined educational terms.Curricula carried the educationalobjectives of knowledge,ability,emotional attitude and values,and values educationis an inevitable requirement for the operation and implementation of curriculumteaching(Bloom,1984).
Different researchers presented their own understandings of its definition.Liu(2020)talked about its two features,namely,concealment and universality.Cao andZhao(2021)deemed it as the practice to put ideological and political education intothe concept and practice of educating people through the whole process of teachingactivities.Professor Wen manifested that through foreign language teaching contents,classroom management,evaluation system and teachers'words and deeds,Englishcurriculum ideology and politics can be implemented.Although different researchershad different understandings on its definition and characteristics,they allacknowledged its educational value.Foreign language teaching practice is relativelyeasy to achieve a deep integration of language learning and elements of moraleducation.Language is not only a symbolic system for expressing ideas,informationand emotions,but also is an important resource for learning about other nationalcultures(Gadakchyan et al.2020).Huang&Xiao(2021)showed six elements ofideological and political construction in foreign language curriculum,which mainlyfocuses on What and How because of the other clear questions.Besides,What isintimate involvement with How,which is the most complicated problem.
2.2 Studies on English Reading Character
This part mainly introduces the definition of English reading character.Variousscholars have done researches on it abroad and at home,who have had a betterunderstanding of previous research deficiencies and future research directions helpingfind out several effective methods to improve English reading character.
2.2.1 Definition of English reading character
Reading character is a comprehensive quality needed to promote individualparticipation and whole-person development.The development goals of Englishreading literacy in Chinese primary and secondary schools include two dimensions:reading ability and reading character.Reading ability includes four aspects:decodingability,language knowledge,reading comprehension and cultural awareness.Englishreading habits composed of reading strategies,reading frequency and reading quantity,and reading experience consisting of reading attitude,reading interest andself-assessment constitute reading character.Good reading habits and pleasant readingexperience can help improve students’English reading character,one of theembodiment of curriculum education and an important foundation for sustainable andhealthy development of reading literacy,and the ultimate goal of reading teaching(Aonarentuya,2017).The higher reading character is,the greater development spaceof reading ability will be,thus forming a virtuous circle(Wang&Aonarentuya,2017).However,under the本论文由英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写,英语论文代写,代写论文,代写英语论文,代写留学生论文,代写英文论文,留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
