Although Chinese feminist writers have made relentless endeavor tobreakthrough from the linguistic form of traditional phallocentric literature standardsto express their female voice, yet in the view of foreign translators, it is still the storyand content that is most highly valued, often at the cost of sacrificing innovativeforms. There are several possible explanations for the translator's choice in dealingwith these prominent features of feminist literature. One reason could be marketingconsiderations, as the social turmoil of China in the postrevolutionary period mightcater to the interest of Westerners. Another reason driving the translator's choice oftranslation strategy might be the pursuit of making the translation more readable andacceptable, as for English readers who can only read the translations, the mostdistinguished appeal of Chinese feminist novels comes from the plot and thecharacters in the story. Also，it is also possible the translator's own male identitymight prevent him from depreciating the male image in the novel.

5.2 Implications of the Findings

As mentioned above, the bold language experimentation of feminist writers ismeant to serve for the narration of story and its gendered theme; as a result failure tofully reproduce the language innovation will lead to the weakening of the overallartistic effect.Thus for the future translations of Chinese feminist literature, it is requisite forthe translators to pay more attention to the rendering of form and fully present to thereaders the charm of innovation as well as bring out the underlying feminist thinking.5.3 Limitations of the Study and Suggestionsfor Further ResearchThe translation of Chinese feminist fiction has not attracted adequate attention asthose produced by male writers in the field of literary and translation studies. Tochoose such a new and pioneering topic is quite challenging for the author. Despitehard work、some limitations still exist.First of all，the number of data sources is limited. For limitations of time andspace, this paper only deals with a comparative study of a single Chinese feministnovel and its corresponding translation.
