1.2 Objective of the study and research questions
The purpose of this case study is to investigate how language teachers of City College think about teaching and learning in the new environment. How their perceptions and attitudes about school environment, curriculum, instruction, and assessment affect their willingness and capacity to attend to student academic need in response to exam-oriented teaching. To get persuasive and in-depth data about teacher attitude and accompanying influence on their teaching performance, the research adopts triangular
methodology to gain perspectives from both teachers and students. Two subject teachers were selected for participation in the interviews; class observation, teacher and student questionnaires were conducted in company to paint the whole picture. Based on the objective of the study, three research questions are listed in the following part: 1. What are the attitudes of language teachers in City College about changing school environment and teaching? 2. How about the teaching behaviors of two language teachers in City College? 3. What is the relationship between the attitude & classroom teaching behavior?

Chapter 2 Literature review
2.1 Framework – environmental psychology
As a branch of social applied psychology, environmental psychology is recognized as a discipline that put focus on the relationship between man and his environment. This interdisciplinary field has attracted other schools of knowledge in its pursuit, aside from psychologists, experts from different fields, ranging from sociologists to educators all has participated in the research of this domain. A significant amount of data has established since the 1970s, and its research spreads in countries from America, France to Japan (Veitch & Arkkelin, 1995). As an applied science, it also gave rise to the appearance and application of a series of theories, action research being one of the most important methods to conduct research.
