摘要:本文是英语词汇学论文,本文以词块法为指导,研究将这一方法运用于高中英语词汇教学中的实践效果。目的在于提高学生学习英语的兴趣,进而提高他们背诵单词的效率。同时,学生在阅读,写作方面都得到了提高。

In grammar teaching, the combinations of fixed form as the whole are split up and the learners have to organize them for the occasion according to the syntactic rules when needed (such as the process of communication), which will affect their language fluency. In English vocabulary teaching, taking the word of “conclusion” for example, teacher will say that “conclusion” is the noun form of the “conclude”, which means that reach a conclusion after discussion and deliberation. When teaching the word of “question” , the teacher often tells students that “question” is both a noun that means a source of difficulty and a verb that means a question raised for consideration and solution. However, contemporary corpus studies show that word form and meaning are closely related, the syntactic and lexical are elected, which mainly manifests in vocabulary usage in two aspects: colligation and collocation. For example, Surprising, amazing and astonishing are synonyms, we can say that it is astonishing/surprising/amazing that... But when we express negative meanings, we usually say “it is not surprising” rather than “It is not amazing” or “It is not astonishing”, because the word of “surprising” is often used in negative sentences. Collocation is such a situation, when some words are regularly used together, rules on how to use these words are created. Such rules are not produced by the grammar, but due to the use habit of people. This is collocation (Pu Jianzhong, 2003:187-189) . The same situation, we will use such a number of collocation “make a mistake” and “do exercise”.

2.2 Previous Researches on Lexical Chunk at Home
In our country, lexical chunk teaching is a trend of English vocabulary teaching and learning in recent years. Scholars have carried out a lot of researches and made some achievements on how to improve the effects of English vocabulary teaching. Chinese scholar Yang Yuchen (1999:24-26) who analyzes the classification and function of the lexical chunks. She believes that supplying lexical chunks in English vocabulary teaching can help students to avoid making mistakes. When students grasp the lexical chunk approach, they will understand different meanings of one word in different context because they memorize the words in the text.
