Innovative Full Color OLED Technology Based on Light Emission from Guest Dye by Energy Transfer from EL-Excited Host
Abstract
We have investigated Full color OLED technology withhigher performances based on Color Conversion Method(CCM) because of its higher potential technology onluminescence efficiency, color gamut and resolutioncompared to other existing OLED technology. In orderto innovate on the existing OLEDs based on CCM,英国留学生电子工业应用论文 whichhas never been paid attention because of relatively lowefficiency and an additional process steps needed, we havebeen focusing on breaking through the existing devicearchitecture and CCM materials performances. Based onthe energy transfer principle in the molecules, wedeveloped a guideline of Host-Guest materials for anadvanced CCM OLED. According to the guideline, wehave been studying and developing the device architectureand the host and guest materials. The advanced CCM-OLEDs showed higher performances, Luminanceefficiency is two times higher and Half-life is at least threetimes longer even with shorter process. It can be expectedthat the advanced CCM-OLEDs will be a strongcandidate against the full color existing display devices.
1. Introduction
High potential of OLEDs technology has been stillpresenting at many conferences and exhibitions in theworld. However the OLEDs’ actual market makes slowprogress. Market has not yet completely accepted theOLEDs because of a significant gap between theperformance and the price.It may be arises from the difficulty of Side-by-SideRGB full color technology and AM product using TFT. Infact, some of OLEDs manufacturers already announced tofocus on color filtering of white OLEDs. Most of OLEDsmanufactures are considering alternatives to the patternedRGB.As far as we know, it is very difficult to overcome thedisadvantage resulted from metal mask process inSide-by-Side RGB method. In addition, there may be astrong tradeoff relationship between the efficiency andcolor gamut at the color filtered white OLEDs as shown intable 1.Based on our consideration regarding full colortechnology, we have been investigating if any full colortechnology has higher potential for the future.
