5.1 Major Findings
Base on the collection and analysis of literature relate to problem chains,this thesisdiscusses in detail the experimental start of the problem chain teaching model in seniorclasses 10 and 12 of Yining County Third Senior High School.Through this experiment,theauthor draw the following conclusions:
The first conclusion is that the problem chain teaching model can improve students’overall English reading achievements.From the analysis of the test paper data of theexperimental and control classes,there is no significant difference between the pre-testachievements of the experimental and control classes.This is enough to prove theeffectiveness of the problem chain teaching model,so it can also be concluded that theproblem chain teaching model can improve students’overall English reading achievements.
The second conclusion is that the problem chain teaching model improve students’achievements on all three types of reading test questions in English reading:readingcomprehension,seven-choice five and cloze,and have a significant positive impact on all ofthem.First,the reading comprehension levels of the two classes before the experiment arebasically the same and does not differ significantly.Second,there is no significant differencebetween the experimental and control classes’achievements on the seven-choice five questionin pre-test.Finally,there is no significant difference between the pre-test achievements of theexperimental and control classes in the cloze types.In conclusion,the reading levels of theexperimental and control classes remain basically the same before the experiment,and there isno significant difference between the students’pre-test achievements in all three types ofEnglish reading test questions.
