摘要:On one hand, the author finds it difficult to improve the students'reading ability if following the traditional reading teaching model, whichemploys the past knowledge-based analytical teaching approach, that is tosay, it emphasizes the importance of the explanations of individual words,sentences and grammar without context.


In this section, we will highly pay attention to the analysis of thedata from students' scores from EC and CC in the pretest and posttest, thescores of the subjects' questionnaire and the result of the interview. Fromthe result we can see whether the text analysis teaching approach reallycontributes to the improvement of students' reading competence. With thestatistics obtained from the research, the research questions hypothesizedin the thesis can be answered. After a period of training students' text analysis ability, almost all thestudents in EC have made rapid progress, which can be seen from theDiagram 5-2; The red line, which represents students' scores of EC in theposttest is almost above the blue one, which represents students' scores ofEG in the pretest. The scores of students in EC in the posttest get 33.84on average in the post-test compared to 28.64 in the pretest. The highestscore reaches 48. After the research, only 7 students' scores are below thescore in the pretest, which covers a very small proportion, which is 14%while the rest of the students get great improvement in the posttest than inthe pretest, which occupies 86 % of the whole class. That is to say,subjects of EC have gained great progress in reading in the posttest thanin the pretest during the research.

Conclusion


In this chapter, we are going to summarize what we have covered inthis thesis.As everyone knows, improving one's reading comprehensioncompetence is a long and hard process during which he or she shouldaccumulate a lot of energy and patience. Of course, if they are guided bya scientific and feasible teaching method, they can get improved muchmore quickly. In this thesis, the teacher has employed this kind ofteaching method, namely, text analysis teaching method. It is concernedwith background culture, context, prediction, guessing, text structure,summary of main idea, topic sentences, genre analysis, author's writingpurpose and attitude towards things and so on. The teacher has madeefforts to show how to use these ways to instruct her students to get adeep understanding of a text.
