ABSTRACT

The dissertation takes Haier Group as an example to explore  the importance of innovation in new product design process in household appliance manufacturing industry. Based on Dibb's and Huang’s NPD model, it forms the theoretical frame of this study, it was from three aspects: design sources of information, customer profile, corporate constraints to discuss the importance of innovation in Haier’s new product design process.
本文以海尔集团为例，探讨在家电制造业在新产品设计过程中创新的重要性。基于迪布和黄的NPD模型，形成了本研究的理论框架，这是来自三个方面：设计的信息来源，客户档案，企业约束的讨论在海尔的新产品设计过程中创新的重要性
 
This study makes use of a questionnaire and an interview to collected relevant data and information. According to the research results, considering design sources of information, Haier's innovation is to collect information through a variety of ways, rather than collect information from the limited channels like some other enterprises do. Comprehensive collection of information can make the design of new products be closer to market demand, allowing an enterprise to find possible problems existing in new product design process, which can also make it easier for the enterprise to solve problems in new product design process. Innovation helps Haier’s new product design to have a positive impact on consumers’ product replacement decisions. Innovation also helps Haier’s new product design to meet the individual needs of consumers and makes Haier’s products have high premium, as well as brand loyalty of a high level. Haier’s innovation in management is to provide new product design with support in aspects of technology, talents, information, various resources, thus innovation is very important for the design of Haier’s new products. At the end of the dissertation, it is based on the research results to bring forward recommendations on application of innovation strategy in new product design process for Haier and other household appliance manufacturing enterprises in China.
