4. Data Analysis and Discussion
After the data collecting, Excel and SPSS 17.0 are employed as effective tools toanalyze the collected data of senior high school English teachers’ culture teaching awareness.This chapter consists of four main parts. Mean score, percentage, variance analysis arepresented for further analysis and discussion. Part One is the analysis of the questionnaire,including the subjects, goal awareness, implementation awareness, resource awareness,evaluation awareness. Part Two is a brief analysis of the effect factors. Part Three is theanalysis of the interview. The pedagogical implications are presented in Part Four.
4.1 Data Analysis and Discussion of the Questionnaire
After an analysis, the basic information of the senior high school English teachers inthis research is shown as the following Charts:From the Charts, we can see:First, the majority of senior high school English teachers are female. The percent ofmale English teachers is relatively little. We can make a conclusion that the career of Englishteachers is more popular among the female.Second, from the structure of age, we can see that young teachers under the age ofthirty-five account for a large proportion. The number of thirty-five years old and oldermature teachers is about one-third of the total. From that figure, and combining with theteaching years of senior high school English teachers, we can make a conclusion that youngteachers are the main force in many schools now. It is clear that on the one hand, youngteachers have the enthusiasm towards teaching career, but on the other hand, they shouldbetter realize the real importance of the new curriculum.
