摘要:本文是高中英语教学论文,本文深入了解教师对小组活动的组织现状和学生对教师组织情况的观点,并运用 Epi Data 和 SPSS13.0软件对所收集数据进行整理和分析。为了使调查结果更全面,还针对教师和学生两个不同的群体分别进行了采访。

As we can see from the data of Item 1, with regard to the preparation for group discussions among students, about 34.9 % teachers choose to put forward objectives and requirements and 30.2 % subjects choose D, combining several methods such as put forward objectives and requirements, introduce background knowledge and give instructions or demonstrations together. As to the group size mentioned in Item 2, around 43.0 % teachers arrange 5-6 people in a group and 44.2% teachers’ classes groups contain 7-8 students. When it comes to the basis of group division (Item3), more than 80% teachers prefer to group learners according to seats or English levels while only a few teachers let their students form group on voluntary basis. As to the seats arrangement (Item4), a large amount of teachers remain the normal seat arrangement. Only 29.1% subjects choose to make special arrangements of seats in group discussions. When it comes to Item 5, totally 93% teachers select group leaders. In addition, as to the group members’ individual responsibility (Item6), most teachers assign individual responsibility to their students. As to Item 7, about 57% teachers would leave time for independent thinking before group discussions and a small part of people start discussions once questions are posed. However, 10.5% teachers choose both occasions.

conclusion
This research chooses subjects from English teachers and students in the senior middle schools within Hebei Province, including Shijiazhuang, Baoding, Xingtai, Handan and so many other areas. However, due to the limitation of actual conditions, the scope of subjects is not large enough. It would be better if the subjects could be chosen from other provinces even nationwide. Progresses are expected to be made in this aspect, though many difficulties need to be conquered. Although the observation scale and questionnaires for teachers and students cover the main aspects of group work organization, still some aspects are not involved. A further modification can be made to make the study more comprehensive and specific. This research is a try on the study of the current situation of group work organization in the English class of senior middle schools, focusing on the investigation and analysis on the “organizing”.
