FAME (Financial Analysis Made Easy)
LOGGING ON
Open your web browser and go to the library homepage at https://www.liv.ac.uk/library/ Click on Electronic Library, then under I want to use… click on the Databases and CD-ROM’s link. In the Subjects A-Z list, select Management School to display the list of databases relevant to Management School subjects. Scroll down to FAME.
Access to FAME is via Athens login. When you are viewing the databases list, click on the Athens login link in the Login Options Panel on the left hand side of the screen. A pop-up window will open; login with your MWS username and password and then close the Login window. Click on Connect next to FAME to connect to the database.

SEARCHING
There are two search options, Quick Search and Expert Search. Expert Search is the default search screen, allowing more flexibility and is the subject of this guide.
The Expert Search screen has several tabs and icons across the top

and available Search Criteria down the side.
Search by company name
Click on Company Name at the top of the Search Criteria list and enter a company name, or part of it. Click Search to display the index of company names matching your search. Highlight the companies that you require and click to move them to the Companies Selected area. Click and the Search Summary screen will display the criteria used and the options to continue your search or display the search results.
Search by geographic location
To search for companies geographically, click Geographic Location from the Search Criteria list. Select the option you require, such as Regions/Postcode Area. Click on next to an option to open up the list or to 留学生论文代写 collapse the list. To select an option, click in the check box next to it. To remove a selected option, unmark it by clicking in the relevant check box. Click to see the search step displayed on the Search Summary Screen.
Search by Activity/Industry
Select Activity/Industry from the Search Criteria list. Select the option you require, such as UK SIC 2003 code. Click on the next to an option to open up the list or to collapse the list. To select an option, click in the check box next to it. To remove a selected option, unmark it by clicking in the relevant check box. Click to see the search step displayed on the Search Summary Screen.
Search by Financial criteria
Select Financials from the Search Criteria list and select the specific financial item you need, such a Turnover from Key Financials, or New Tangible Assets from All Financials. Complete the search window and Click to see the search step displayed on the Summary Search Screen.
Add as many criteria to your search as necessary, remembering to click after each step to add it to the Search Summary screen.
To delete a search step, click next to the step you wish to remove; to modify a search step, click next to the step you wish to change. To edit the Boolean operators (AND, OR etc) click the relevant radio button.

SAVING SEARCH STRATEGIES AND COMPANY SETS
Search strategy
If you want to monitor companies that meet your search criteria, you can save your search strategy to use again at a later date. Your results may differ each time you run the search as new information is added to the database.
To save a search strategy, select the button at the bottom of the Search Summary screen. Choose to Save to disk, enter a name for your search, select the location
