It has been acknowledged that non-native users of Englishhave outnumbered native speakers of English.Although English has only a history of about 1500 years, which is much shorter thanthat of Latin, Greek or French, it spread quickly all over the world. Just as Crystal (1997)said, English is the language which repeatedly finds itself in the right place at the righttime. In the mid-sixteenth century English was only spoken by a relatively small group of speakers born and bred within the shores of the British Isles. Then it spread five to sevenmillion English speakers, nearly all of them living in the British Isles. And then the numberincreased to some 250 million, most of whom lived outside the British Isles between theend of the reign of Elizabeth 1(1588) and the beginning of the reign of Elizabeth II (1952)(Crystal, 1997).After that, English spread to the US, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. Americanstried to find their own identities in English in the course of developing political differencesand being different from British English in linguistic levels such as pronunciation，vocabulary and grammatical structure and growing American sense of national identity.

2.2 Researches on China English
With the study of World Englishes, different varieties of English also attract scholars'attention. And it seems that China English catches most eyes and arouse hot debate bothhome and abroad. There are papers and writings relating to it. In this part, the studies of thedevelopment of China English will be discussed. The researches on China English experiences three periods; (1) Proposal of ChinaEnglish; (2) controversy of status; (3) the study on linguistic features of China English ondifferent levels and diversified researches on it. (Li, 2006). The relationship betweenChinese thinking patterns and China English is one of the important parts in this field.(1) Proposal of China EnglishIn the article A Talk on Chinese-English Translation, Ge Chuangui (1980) firstproposed the concept of China English. He thought that words that express China-specificthings, such as Four Books (四书)，eight-legged essay (W股文)，May Fourth Movement(五四运动)，xiucai (秀才)，Mr. Science (赛先生)，baihua (白话)，ideological remoulding(思想改造)，and four modernizations (四个现代化）are the words of China English ratherthan Chinese English or Chinglish (Ge, 1980). He said that as for our nation，when wespeak or write English, no matter in old period or now, we all have our specific things toexpress, and it is decided by Chinese particular history and culture. And through explaining,all the translated words and phrases of Chinese culture can be understood byEnglish-speaking people.
